‘Brilliant’ £5 item from Tesco kills mould on tile grout ‘overnight’

Mrs Hinch fans have shared a simple £5 method for removing mould from tile grout – and it’s not bleach.

Tile grout is a prime location for mould, especially in bathrooms and kitchens where the conditions are damp and humid.

Leaks, humidity, condensation and inadequate ventilation can all contribute to mould growth.

Rather than using bleach, Mrs Hinch fans suggested using a £5.25 item from Tesco – HG Mould Spray.

Debbie Nash asked the Facebook group, ‘Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips’: “I need your help to clean the grout between the tiles in the bathroom. Tried Cillit Bang and Astonish Mould and Mildew Blaster. Any tips please?”

The post was inundated with responses but the most suggested solution was to use HG Mould Spray.

HG Mould Spray costs £5.25 from Tesco and Asda and £6 from Wickes.

Jolene JoJo Coskery said: “HG Mould Spray is brilliant for killing mould.”

Lisa Quinn agreed: “I was just about to recommend that as well. It’s brilliant.”

Christine Tait replied: “Definitely HG Mould Spray. It’s brilliant stuff.”

Victoria Schofield commented: “Spray the HG Mould Spray all over them then put paper towel over it all. Saturate that and leave it overnight.”

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using bleach, Viakal and Elbow Grease.

Sabrina Smith-mcmaster said: “Pour bleach on the area and soak some cotton pads and press onto the areas. Leave on for 24 hours and then wash away.”

Susan McFarlane commented: “Viakal sprayed on and left for 10 minutes works well!”

Eleanor King posted: “Elbow Grease and a stiff scrubbing brush.”
