Burnley v Brentford, Luton v Nottingham Forest, and more: football – live | Premier League

Key events

GOAL! Osasuna 1-1 Real Madrid (Budimir 7)

That didn’t take long either.

Luton 0-0 Nottm Forest Now Forest have had a couple of chances, the best of which (apparently) was headed wide by Willy Boly.

GOAL! Osasuna 0-1 Real Madrid (Vinicius Jr 4)

That didn’t take long. The last Osasuna defender farts around on the ball, mistaking himself for Morten Olsen. Vinicius Junior disabuses him of that notion by nicking the ball and running through to score with ease.

GOAL! Ipswich 1-0 Sheff Wed (Hutchinson 15)

A win is essential for promotion-chasing Ipswich today; Omari Hutchinson has put them on their way.

GOAL! SV Darmstadt 98 1-2 Bayern Munich (Kane 45+1)

Harry Kane scores his 31st league goal of the season to give Bayern the lead. Typical goal: sharp movement and a stooping header into the corner from Joshua Kimmich’s cross.

Luton 0-0 Nottm Forest Luton are on top, it says here, but it’s still goalless at Kenilworth Road.

GOAL! Burnley 1-0 Brentford (Bruun Larsen 10 pen)

Jacob Bruun Larsen hits an excellent penalty to give Burnley the lead. Mark Flekken went the right way but the boy Gadget woiuld have done well to save that.

REGUILON SENT OFF!

Burnley 0-0 Brentford That’s a big moment because most people would have fancied Brentford to win today and put some distance between themselves and Luton/Forest. Not any more.

The monitor is working! It sounds like Reguilon is in big trouble because he kneed and pushed Vitinho from behind; as he wasn’t trying to play the ball directly, he should be sent off.

GOAL! SV Darmstadt 1-1 Bayern Munich (Musiala 36)

I take it all back; Harry Kane has made an equaliser for Jamal Musiala.

VAR FARCE INCOMING!

Burnley 0-0 Brentford The referee has been asked to look at a potential Burnley penalty – but the monitor isn’t working. Oh lordy. It sounds like it’s a clear penalty and a potential red card for Sergio Reguilon.

uh-oh. bad news for Burnley! Photograph: Peter Powell/Reuters

GOAL! SV Darmstadt 98 1-0 Bayern Munich (Skarke 28)

Oh, Bayern. They’ye fallen behind to the bottom club Darmstadt and could be able to slip even further behind Leverkusen. Tim Skarke finished coolly after a thrilling run from Mathias Honsak.

Hello everyone. Thanks to Taha for doing the sour metres, to borrow Soren Busk’s memorable expression. Now it’s time for goalflashes galore. Talking of which…

OK, Rob’s in to take over from me, having already had plenty of fun watching the madness at Molineux. Here’s Ben Fisher’s report from there.

The teams for the 3pm Premier League kick-offs, in case you were wondering:

GOAL! Swansea 2-0 Cardiff (Lowe 90+6)

It’s all over in the South Wales derby, with Jamal Lowe adding a second for Swansea in added time. He hurried down the left wing, cut into the box, skipped past the keeper and slotted in to cue jubilant scenes among the home support.

Anywho, here’s an interesting piece on which sides have it toughest in the Premier League run-in – and it’s not looking all that great for Luton.

Brentford, Forest and Everton face the easiest, fourth-easiest and fifth-easiest run-ins, respectively, according to our model. They all have to play all three of the promoted sides, so there will be a huge amount of pressure on those matches against Luton. Luton’s hopes may ultimately hinge on whether Forest end up, like Everton, being given a points deduction.

MY WORD! Coventry have won 3-2 at Molineux. Sorry, I know I should be focused on my stuff but you ought to read Rob on this, right now.

And now Wolves lead 2-1. Once again, Coventry fans, I apologise. Elsewhere Swansea are still 1-0 up in the early kick-off in the Championship thanks to a Liam Cullen goal. He could have had a second in the South Wales derby, but missed a penalty a few minutes into the second half.

Apologies to Coventry fans for my work below. Wolves are level.

Rob, of course, is busy at the moment watching a potential upset: Coventry still lead Wolves 1-0 at Molineux in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Not much time left in that one.

Preamble

Hello, hello, hello and welcome to the show. Yes, I know, the big one is the FA Cup this weekend but somebody’s got to man the 3pm fort. The Premier League action comes exclusively from the bottom of the table, with Burnley (19th) v Brentford (15th) and Luton (18th) v Nottingham Forest (17th). With Burnley looking likely to go down, it’s the latter that’s the more tasty fixture, with Luton three points behind Forest and trailing by two in terms of goal difference – deliver in front of a bouncing Kenilworth Road today and the hosts could climb out of the relegation zone.

Beyond the Prem, there are games to keep tabs on across the lower leagues and Europe – Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both having a kickabout – so don’t leave me, pretty please. I’ll keep things ticking over before Rob Smyth enters the room.
