Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls and an 85% rated RPG are all free if you hurry | Gaming | Entertainment

If you’re looking for some free games to play this weekend, then you’ve got plenty of heavy hitters to choose from. First up is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, which is free to download and play on PS4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer and Zombies is free to play until 6pm BST UK time on the afternoon of April 7, so you’ll need to act fast in order to avoid missing out. The only drawback is that you’ll need PS Plus and Game Pass Core in order to access online multiplayer and co-op Zombies. It’s also worth pointing out that you won’t be able to play the MW3 Campaign, although judging by the reviews, you’re not missing much. If first-person shooters aren’t your thing, then there are plenty of other games available for free this weekend. This includes fantasy multiplayer game Elder Scrolls Online, which is free on Xbox, PlayStation and PC until 6pm BST on April 9.

The Elder Scrolls Online free trial is available to commemorate the game’s ten-year anniversary.

If you want to continue your adventure, you can grab the core game for just £3.74 on PlayStation and Xbox.

The core package contains The Elder Scrolls Online base game and the Morrowind Chapter, the latter of which takes place in the iconic island of Vvardenfell.

Elsewhere, Xbox users with a Game Pass Core subscription can pick up a free copy of LEGO 2K Drive for the duration of the weekend.

Free until Monday morning, LEGO 2K Drive is a surprisingly fun open-world racing game set in Bricklandia.

Similar to The Crew 2, LEGO 2K Drive contains vehicles that transform based on the terrain.

Even more free games are free on the Epic Games Store, including entertaining role-playing game Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition and forgotten cult-classic Thief.

“Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the colony,” reads the official Outer Worlds description.

“Explore the various planets and locations of Halcyon, including the mysterious Gorgon Asteroid and delightful distilleries of Eridanos. As you encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds.”

Thief, meanwhile, is a first-person stealth game in which players control a master thief named Garrett. In a bid to overthrow the corrupt powers that be, you’ll need to infiltrate heavily-guarded buildings in order to claim loot and steal secrets.
