Jamie Carragher rows with Rio Ferdinand after Man Utd beat Liverpool | Football | Sport

United booked their spot in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday night after managing to edge out the Reds in a seven-goal thriller at Old Trafford. Amad Diallo was the hero for the Red Devils, with the winger steering his shot past Caoimhin Kelleher in the 121st minute to secure a 4-3 victory for his side.

Erik ten Hag’s side took the lead in the clash through Scott McTominay but found themselves behind at the interval, with quick-fire goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah turning the tie on its head. Out-of-favour Antony then managed to equalise in the 87th minute for United to send the game to extra time.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Harvey Elliott prompted conversations about penalty-takers as the clock ticked down, before a blistering counter-attack from United saw Diallo leave his mark on the tie. The match-winning goal sent the Theatre of Dreams into a frenzy, with ex-United stars visibly ecstatic with the nature of the victory over their fierce rivals.

Former Red Devils skipper Ferdinand took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his excitement, posting a photo of Rashford knee-sliding along with a picture of his United team celebrating a victory in front of Carragher when the pair were both playing.

Carragher did not allow the post to go unnoticed though, hitting back with a cutting response which read: “Relax. Man City will beat you comfortably in the final and ETH (Erik ten Hag) will still be in charge next season. It’s not the win you think it is!!”
