Queen Camilla beams in detailed green coat dress and £25k brooch with special meaning | Royal | News

Smartly dressed for the occasion, Her Majesty, Queen Camilla, gleamed in green as she wore a deep-coloured coat dress for her engagements in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Paying tribute to her hosts, Queen Camilla wore an elegant green coat dress by Bruce Oldfield, the designer of last year’s Coronation gown. The coat was unique as it had a special twist to its design and featured green velvet leaf-like patches.

For part of her day in Belfast, Queen Camilla wrapped up warm to visit artisan and family producers, although it had been a while since her last visit to Northern Ireland which was in May 2023 following King Charles’s Coronation.

Also paying tribute to her host in a delicate fashion, Queen Camilla wore a stunning turquoise and diamond shamrock brooch for the events.

According to X user, Remoulade Sauce, many believe this was a “wedding gift to the late Queen Elizabeth II”, with the royal observer noting it has been worn exclusively by Camilla since 2019.

The beautiful accessory worn by Camilla features Persian turquoises set in the centre of three leaves of a diamond shamrock, and a larger diamond sits in the centre of the brooch.

Express.co.uk has previously spoken to Maxwell Stone, Steven Stone‘s leading diamond expert, about the brooch’s design and how much it is worth. He said: “Camilla’s shamrock brooch is very eye-catching and definitely unique.”

He added: “While other royals such as Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth are known for wearing shamrock brooches on St Patrick’s Day, they tend to be more traditional, made with emeralds and yellow gold.

“Featuring three leaves of Persian turquoise stones surrounded by high-quality white diamonds. I’d estimate that this exceptional piece has a value of around £25,000.”

All eyes were on Camilla when she visited Northern Ireland’s artisan and family producers, but when she popped into Knotts bakery, the limelight focused on a one-year-old photo opportunist.

Young Fitz, the son of owner William Corrie and former Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon joked along with the Queen.

Queen Camilla told well-wishes that King Charles is “doing very well” despite undergoing treatment for his recent cancer diagnosis.

She was also handed a get-well card for an ill King Charles during her shop visits, which she gratefully accepted.

The woman who handed her the card, Brenda Robb, said: “She accepted a get-well card that I got for her husband and she said she was sorry her husband wasn’t here.”
