Andrea Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli, 12, duet at BST Hyde Park in new footage | Music | Entertainment

Last night, Andrea Bocelli performed the largest classical concert in Europe of this century.

The heavens may have opened all evening at BST Hyde Park, but fans were delighted by the Italian maestro’s incredible vocals and guest performances from the likes of Seal and Hans Zimmer.

Matteo Bocelli opened for his father and 12-year-old daughter Virginia Bocelli sang a duet with Andrea during the main set.

The 65-year-old sat with an acoustic guitar as she joined him on stage in pink.

He joked that they’d sing a song like they do at home, but this time she’d need to be good.

The track in question was Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, which was Virginia’s professional debut with her father at just 8-years-old during a 2020 Christmas lockdown live stream concert.

As Virginia opened the lyrics, the huge audience gave her a massive cheer before her father joined in.

She’s also expected to perform at the three Andrea Bocelli 30th anniversary concerts in Tuscany later this month.

On performing at BST Hyde Park, Andrea shared: “It’s a dream come true for me after Central Park in 2011 and now Hyde Park here in London. And then I will have three concerts in my country village La Sterza with many, many great colleagues.”

The likes of Sir Brian May, Ed Sheeran, Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe and Shania Twain are set to perform at the three Italian shows on July 15, 17 and 19.
