Princess Charlotte has been capturing our hearts ever since she started making royal appearances.
The nine-year-old daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales is often seen with her family members at royal functions such as Trooping the Colour and is probably best known for helping to keep her younger brother, Prince Louis, out of trouble during carriage rides and balcony appearances.
Charlotte – who also has an older brother, Prince George – bears a huge resemblance to both her parents, but as royal fans recently pointed out, she also happens to be the spitting image of two other members of the royal family.
And while both royals are connected to Charlotte by blood, they’re not related to each other – making their resemblance even stranger.
In a post made by a royal fan on Facebook recently, it was pointed out Princess Charlotte looks exactly like her late grandmother, Princess Diana, when she was a young girl.
And that’s not all, because she also bears a striking resemblance to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, too. Photos of the two women in their childhood were placed alongside an image of Charlotte on Facebook, and the similarities are uncanny.
Commenters on the post were torn between saying Charlotte “resembles the Queen” and that she “looks like Diana”, proving she has a similarity to both her late family members. Others, however, insisted she is “a beautiful young girl in her own right”.
One person said: “Charlotte looks like Charlotte. She is very pretty and has inherited the beauty genes of her mother, Diana, and the Queen, but she will be beautiful because of that as she grows into a beautiful woman. God bless you Princess Charlotte.”
Charlotte sadly never got to meet her grandmother, as Princess Diana died in 1997 when her son – and Charlotte’s father – Prince William was only 15 years old.
She did, however, have a strong relationship with her great-grandmother, the late Queen, who passed away in 2022 when Charlotte was seven.
In fact, the Queen once made a touching gesture to benefit Princess Charlotte that changed the family forever, after she made a significant alteration to a royal law which shook up the line of succession to the throne.
Ahead of the birth of William and Kate’s first child, the Queen issued the Succession of the Crown Act, which updated discriminatory royal laws and meant their child would have an equal right to the throne regardless of their gender.
As a boy, first-born Prince George’s place as third – and now second – in line to the throne did not change, but the Queen’s rule meant the couple’s daughter kept her place and was not bumped down when their third child, Prince Louis, arrived.
