Sky confirms 6 new channels launching today for free, check your TV now

If you haven’t got enough things to watch already there’s good news. Sky has just confirmed that 6 new channels are launching on its streaming platform and all will be available without having to pay a penny extra. Yes, you can tune in and your bill won’t go up. The FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television) content boost includes channels such as Sky Sports Stories, Pick Paranormal and Emergency 24/7 with customers seeing the changes from today, July 30.

Sky has confirmed that all of the new channels are available through the new Xumo Play app, which offers a total of over 70 free streaming channels including Dateline, Reuters and American Classics. Sadly, Xumo Play is only compatible with Sky Glass televisions and the latest Sky Stream box which means those with Sky Q will miss out for now.

Luckily, the new FAST channels will be available on Sky Q later this year and they will also be integrated into the TV guide on Sky Glass and Sky Stream for improved discovery.

If you have Sky Glass or Sky Stream you can access the new content now by downloading Xumo Play from the app rail, or by saying “Xumo Play” into your Sky voice remote. It’s all free and there’s no need to create an account.

Here are all the new channels and some of the programmes available to watch.

Pick Paranormal: not for the faint of heart, Pick Paranormal features Most Haunted, the fan favourite TV show investigating all things supernatural.

Emergency 24/7: with Highway Cops, Air Ambulance ER and Stop Search Seize, plus many more shows, Emergency 24/7 is packed full of drama.

Sky Artist of The Year: the channel for art aficionados, viewers can catch up on Sky’s Portrait Artist of the Year and Landscape Artist of the Year.

Sky Sports Stories: whatever their sport, Sky Sports Stories has a documentary for every fan – from EFL Rivalries to Her Huddle.

Sky Sports Classics: viewers can delve into the Sky Sports archives with the likes of Premier League Icons and Premier League Legends.

Sky Sports Vault: the channel revisits a whole host of archive darts, EFL and boxing content including 30 Years of The PDC World Darts Championship and Fight Night.

For those unaware, both Sky Stream and Sky Glass offer a different way to access content with these platforms using the web to beam shows, sports and movies to the big screen rather than a dish.

Prices for Sky Stream currently start from as little as £22 per month with this deal even including Netflix and premium TV channels.
