Amazon has unveiled an updated version of its top-tier Fire TV and slashed the price by a staggering £180 in a limited-time offer. The new 43″ Amazon Fire TV 4-Series is now on sale for just £249.99, marking a significant 42% reduction from its regular £429.99 cost.
There are also substantial discounts on the 50″ model, now retailing at £339.99, and the 55″ variant priced at £369.99. The 4-series is Amazon’s sought-after 4K Ultra HD smart TV, which received an upgrade in 2024 with the addition of a sleek ultra-slim bezel for an enhanced edge-to-edge viewing experience.
This model offers 4K UHD picture quality, providing sharper and more vibrant visuals with brighter colours compared to 1080p Full HD. It also boasts Dolby Digital Plus surround sound, which Dolby promotes as its ‘advanced audio technology’.
With the Fire TV, users can effortlessly access a vast array of films and series on streaming platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and others. The included Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced enables hands-free content searching, as The Mirror reports.
“The picture quality is pretty good and the sound quality is very good, it’s also easy to set up”, said one of many five-start reviewers on the Amazon site.
“I used a Fire Stick controller in the past so used to the button layout, although there are more buttons on this. Overall, very happy with my purchase. Another chimed in with praise for the product’s affordability: “Quite a bargain at this price point. Easy to set up, picture quality is fine for the price I paid.”
“A third buyer expressed their contentment, stating: “Excellent considering the price”, we can agree, as consistent price checking on the model shows us it’s one of the cheapest around.
Another user said that the TV was of exceptional value. However, not everyone was completely won over. A less satisfied customer pointed out some flaws, commenting: “Decent picture quality for a budget TV but the Freeview guide is slow and clunky compared to every other brand I have used.
“The remote is awkward with very small buttons close together. These things spoil an otherwise decent TV.”
For those considering splurging on a high-end television, the newly launched Sky Glass Gen 2 might be worth a look. This upgraded smart TV from Sky offers a sharper, brighter 4K QLED display compared to its predecessor and comes equipped with seven Dolby Atmos-powered speakers.
Packages start from £29 per month, including access to over 100 TV channels such as Sky Atlantic, plus complimentary Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions. Meanwhile, Virgin Media has reintroduced its popular free Hisense TV offer.
