Motorists on the M25 this morning faced rush hour traffic chaos following an incident. National Highways said a road traffic collision happened on the M25 clockwise between junctions J16 and J17. 

The crash, they added, had been cleared by 7.30am, but "severe" delays remained in the area, with traffic cameras showing long queues and motorists nearly at a standstill.
