Jeremy Corbyn's new party has been hit by a fresh blow after new polling showed just one in eight Britons would vote for it. The YouGov survey found 12% of respondents said they would be likely to consider backing Your Party, down from 18% in July.
It comes as the Left-wing outfit has faced a chaotic start with a series of embarrassing rows and MPs quitting. The poll of 2,119 people, carried out this week, found just 4% would vote for Your Party exclusively, with 85% also open to the Greens.
The polling comes ahead of Your Party's founding conference in Liverpool this weekend.
Mr Corbyn apologised to Your Party members earlier this week for the party's turbulent start.
He told the New Statesman: “I’d say to them, I’m sorry if you are at all disappointed.
“I hope however, your wish and your determination to have democratic, serious Left voice that will challenge Reform, that will challenge austerity, challenge the Tories and so on will be there.
“We are socialists, we believe in a socially just and equal society. It’s never going to be an easy road, but if we work with each other, educate each other and, above all, inspire a young generation to come along, we can achieve things.
“For any misdemeanours on my part, of course I apologise, but I want to make this thing work."
Mr Corbyn, former Labour MP Zarah Sultana and four pro-Gaza independent MPs had been working to set up the party.
But two of the independent MPs have pulled out in the last month amid internal division.
