
A teenage girl has been confirmed dead after a minibus collided with a car in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, on Monday. The girl was one of nine passengers in the Mercedes Sprinter bus that was involved in a crash shortly before 12.30pm.
Another teenage girl was rushed to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, while all seven remaining passengers and the man driving the bus were treated for minor injuries. The white minibus was heading on Toulston Lane towards Sherburn when a woman driving a Hyundai i10 entered the road from Rudgate.
The woman in her 40s has since been arrested in connection with the incident as officers continue their investigation.
Posting on Facebook a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson confirmed the news
"North Yorkshire Police is investigating the tragic death of a teenage girl who was a passenger in a minibus that was in a collision with a car at Tadcaster," they said. “The incident happened on Toulston Lane - at the junction with Rudgate - at around 12.28pm on Monday (1 December 2025).”
The road will remain closed as officers continue their investigation. They added: “We are appealing for any witnesses or motorists with relevant dashcam footage to come forward as soon as possible.
