A 'police led' incident in the early hours of Sunday morning has forced shut an entire stretch of motorway in West Yorkshire.

Drivers hoping to use the M621 east or westbound in the Stourton and Leeds area may want to start looking at alternative routes. 

The road has been closed westbound between J7 (Stourton) and J4 (Leeds), and eastbound between J3 (Leeds) and J7.

National Highways is at the scene along with police officers who responded to the incident shortly after 4am. Motorway Cameras UK revealed that live road traffic feeds have been disabled around the site.
