Police are reportedly hunting for an alleged shooter after "gunshots were fired" in Welland, Ontario, Canada.
Member of Parliament for Niagara West, Dean Allison, posted on X that a police officer was struck by a gunshot.
He said: "Reports of an active shooter in Welland. One Police Officer has reportedly been struck by gunfire and extracted from the scene. Scene is active with multiple agencies responding."
Local police urged people to shelter in place: "Shelter In Place - Police are on scene of a shooting in the area of Plymouth/Lincoln/Third in Welland There is a shelter in place for the area. Please stay out of the area as police respond More information to follow as available."
