A dealership that has been in operation for more than 40 years has officially gone into administration, leaving customers confused as to where they stand. Pilgrims of March in Cambridgeshire was appointed administrators on Companies House on December 10. All directors except for Gary Keith Robinson were terminated, while customers were left not knowing how to retrieve their cars inside.
Andrew Mark Bland of DMC Recovery Limited, 41 Greek Street, Stockport and Cheshire have been appointed as joint administrators. Motoring publication Car Dealer reported that sales and services hadn't opened despite customers showing up for appointments they had booked.
"I had my car booked in today and got down there at 08:30 to find the gates padlocked and no sign of any staff," one confused local said on Facebook.
Another shared: "To the lovely people of March, can anyone help me? I have one of my vehicles now locked in Pilgrims of March’s yard with no way of getting it out due to the closure."
A third wrote: "I went and test drove a truck last Saturday, rang up Monday morning hoping to put a deposit down to later find out on Wednesday they had closed indefinitely."
The business was the only Ford dealer in the local area. It had been in operation for decades, but has received mixed reviews on Truspilot in recent months.
No official statement has been given by Pilgrims of March, but locals told Car Dealer that they believed the business went into voluntary receivership in November.
