
Marks and Spencer has revealed which London locations it wants to target with brand new food stores as it sets its sights on a massive expansion. The British supermarket announced the 500 locations where it wants to open, revealing plans to expand its food offering to customers around the country. 197 of these locations are in Greater London, with a huge number of new M&S stores set to open in the capital over the next few years.
The supermarket says these stores would be in its renewal format, with more with an extended range of M&S Food, wider aisles for bigger shopping trolleys and larger car parks for more family shoppers. "The strong performance of our new M&S food stores gives us the confidence to explore even more locations across the UK, from Elgin to Exmouth," said M&S Managing Director Alex Freudmann.
He continued: "With more than twenty stores opening or modernised before the end of the financial year, we are moving faster. Our team want new sites where we could open a large M&S Food store as we deliver on our strategy to bring the right stores to the right places and offer the best shopping experience, range and availability for our customers."
