A man stabbed 14 people during a frenzied attack at a rubber factory on Boxing Day. At least eight are reported to have been rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for their wounds.
The horrific incident unfolded at 4.30pm local time in the Japanese city of Mishima. "Fourteen people are subject to transportation by emergency services," Tomoharu Sugiyama, a firefighting department official, told AFP.
He also confirmed that a "spray-like liquid" had been used in the attack.
The attacker was detained at the premises and is now in police custody, as detectives carry out an investigation.
