Travellers on board will explore the likes of Porto (Leixoes), Cádiz (Seville), Malaga, Palma de Mallorca (Majorca), Barcelona, Pisa, Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples, Palermo (Sicily), Trapani, Malta (Valletta), Tunis (La Goulette), Cagliari, Valencia, Alicante and Lisbon.

The mammoth cruise is for those seeking an adventure, offering a 31-night trip that returns on March 22. Alternatively, you can board a 7-night Mediterranean - Western from just £41 per night, but you'll need to be prepared to fly to Florence from where it departs on 28 January.

Those interested in exploring the Mediterranean during the first few months of the year should be prepared for some chilly weather conditions. While Europe typically offers more sunshine than the UK, taking a voyage during the winter months can be unpredictable, and choppy sea conditions can vary.
