
A baby has sadly died at a home in Carmarthenshire, Wales, following an emergency.
Police arrived at the home in Heol y Pentre, Ponthenri, just after 8am on Tuesday, where the baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that no criminal investigation is ongoing and that the coroner has been made aware of the incident. The baby's family are being supported by specialist officers.
A spokesman for the force said: "Dyfed-Powys Police received a call from ambulance at 8.15am, Tuesday, January 13, reporting an infant in a medical emergency at a property in the Ponthenri area. Sadly, the infant died at the scene. There are no criminal investigations on going.
"HM coroner has been made aware. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time, and they continue to be supported by specialist officers."
