Piers Morgan has given fans a health update after a fall at a swanky London restaurant left the outspoken presenter, 60, with a badly fractured femur. The broadcaster, 59, shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of himself seated at home behind a desk, wearing hospital socks and a suit, as he prepared to film his latest Uncensored show.
“Back in the game,” he wrote. “New episode dropping tonight, hosted from my home with a new bionic hip." A bionic hip refers to a robotic or artificial limb implanted into a patient as a joint replacement. The procedure significantly improves quality of life, generally lasting at least 15 years, with recovery spanning several months, according to the NHS.
The post quickly sparked a wave of reactions from fans and celebrity friends, with many wishing him a speedy recovery, as one wrote: "The non-slip medical socks look good on you, Piers Morgan. I hope you are back on your feet soon." A second replied: "Can't keep you down for long, you go, Piers."
After recovering in a hospital following the incident, Piers shared that he’ll be on crutches for six weeks, with “no long-haul flying” for 12 weeks. “New Year off to a cracking start!” Piers wrote, jokingly adding, “I blame Donald Trump.”
Piers responded to some Good Morning Britain banter in which the show’s presenters jokingly suggested Piers might have tripped after enjoying a couple of drinks. On X, Morgan posted a laughing emoji alongside the message, “To clarify, ZERO alcohol was involved in the incident.”
He also replied to a post claiming he would be recovering in his luxury London home with an £18,000 man cave, stating: “I don’t think I’ll be ‘recovering’ in the man cave… but I might be able to host @PiersUncensored from there for a bit. Working on that now.”
Currently, Piers is raising tens of millions of dollars from major investors to expand Uncensored, his YouTube-based venture, into a global media platform. According to Sky News, he is finalising a fundraising round of approximately $30 million (£22.5 million) for Uncensored, which would value the company at around $130 million (£97 million) pre-money.
The new investors are believed to include The Raine Group, a New York-based merchant bank, and Theo Kyriakou, the media mogul behind Greece's Antenna Group.
