Brooklyn Beckham's wedding planner admitted he is "surprised" the 26-year-old publicly slammed his famous parents. Brooklyn recently lashed out at David, 50, and Victoria Beckham, 51, in a scathing six-page Instagram Story, where he hurled a number of accusations against the pair. These included claims that she hijacked his first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz, at their 2022 wedding, danced inappropriately on him and pulled out of making the 31-year-old’s wedding dress at the last minute.
Preston Baily, who helped the couple plan their nuptials, described Brooklyn as "a nice, gentle guy" and admitted he saw no signs of "tension" between him and his parents during the preparations. He also came to the defence of Nicola, insisting he never witnessed the actress being "bossy" despite recent claims.
Preston said: "I don't remember her being bossy. I remember a lot of affection between them (Nicola and Brooklyn). Whatever design was done was presented to Nicola, but it was important for her to have Brooklyn approve it. She wasn't going to do anything without his approval."
Preston, whose illustrious client list includes Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Uma Thurman and Michael Douglas, continued to Page Six: "It surprises me that he is taking this stand against his parents. That's not the Brooklyn I met as far as him being this nice, gentle guy... He was just a nice, regular person who would say hello and chit chat.
"I can tell you about my experience with Brooklyn. While we were planning, clearly as far as the details for the design, he was very much involved. I have always thought of him as a gentle, decent guy. There was never any tension."
He said the heiress was "one of the worst celebs" he has ever worked with and branded her a "bad apple". He also suggested Nicola was the mastermind behind Brooklyn's bombshell statement, adding: "It seems like someone is putting him up to it and being like, ‘You better publicly say something and make them look bad because I don’t want to be the evil one."
In her acceptance speech, Victoria acknowledged all her children – without specifically naming them. The Spice Girls star said: "This is not the achievement of just one person. From design and the atelier, to the production and communication teams, and the many minds and hands working together – it is a collaborative effort, and this distinction isn't mine alone.
"So I'd like to thank my incredible team for their dedication, creativity and trust. Thank you to my parents and to my children who are always believing in my vision."
