Lily Collins, the Netflix star known for her role in Emily in Paris, has posted a heartfelt tribute to her legendary musician father, Phil Collins, as he celebrates his 75th birthday.
The 36 year old actress, who has played style-savvy Emily Cooper across five series of the popular streaming romantic-drama that most recently returned last December, is the daughter of Genesis drummer and lead singer Phil and his second wife, Jill Tavelman.
The iconic musician marked this remarkable milestone on Friday, 30th January, just days after his frank conversation with broadcaster Zoe Ball on the BBC's podcast series, Eras.
Taking to Instagram, his daughter shared a heartwarming collection of photographs capturing moments between father and daughter, including a throwback image from Lily's childhood.
"Yesterday Dad turned 75 and I feel so grateful to have celebrated together," she penned in the accompanying caption, reports the Mirror.
"For all you've accomplished, all the joy you've brought so many all over the world for ALL these years, all the lessons we've learned, all the memories we've shared, and all the new ones to come, thank you.
"I count myself so lucky to have hugged you, laughed with you, and reminisced with you on such a monumental day. Proud is an understatement. Love you to the moon and back again..."
Admirers flooded the comments section with their own well-wishes for the music legend, with one Instagram follower writing: "Your dad's music has brought so much joy to my life and fans worldwide."
Another fan responded: "Glad you could celebrate such a special birthday together!"
The touching post follows Phil's candid revelation to presenter Zoe about requiring round-the-clock live-in nursing care after undergoing five knee operations alongside a series of other medical complications.
He explained: "I can walk, albeit with assistance," and "I have a 24-hour, live-in nurse to make sure I take my medication as I should do."
Phil detailed his ordeal: "I've had challenges with my knee, I had everything that could go wrong with me, did go wrong with me. I got Covid in hospital, my kidneys started to back up."

The musician acknowledged that his rock 'n' roll days have finally "caught up with [him]" having previously "spent months in the hospital" dealing with the consequences.
He confessed: "I'd probably been drinking too much, and so my kidneys were messed up," before clarifying, "I wasn't one of those guys that sort of stayed up all night drinking. I'd drink during the day, but I guess I had too much of it."
Whilst Phil remains hopeful about eventually returning to full mobility and wellness, he's realistic about the prospect of taking to the stage once more after his final performance in 2022.
Nevertheless, he reflects on his career without remorse, stating: "I couldn't have wished for a more varied and eventful playing career."
Emily in Paris is available to stream on Netflix.
