Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz are said to be planning to adopt a child, a move that would leave parents David and Victoria Beckham facing the prospect of becoming grandparents with no relationship to their first grandchild. The revelation comes amid the couple’s long-running estrangement from Brooklyn, 26, who has not spoken meaningfully to his parents for more than eight months. Friends say the adoption plans are deeply significant — and painfully symbolic — given the current family breakdown.
Tellingly, in his bombshell six-page Instagram statement posted on January 20, Brooklyn repeatedly referenced his “future family” with Nicola, language said to be deliberate and loaded. A source close to the couple said they have had “several conversations” about adopting rather than only having biological children. They told The Sun: “This is a subject Nicola and Brooklyn firmly align on: they both want a brood of children, and for at least one to be adopted. They both know they come from a place of unimagined privilege and therefore strongly want to give back, to offer a disadvantaged baby or child the best possible life. They have talked extensively about it.”

The timing is said to be especially sensitive. According to the source, Nicola’s recent weight loss for a film role makes biological motherhood unlikely in the immediate future.
They said: “Nicola has just dropped down to 90lbs for her latest movie role so having a child that is biologically hers right now seems out of the question.”
The same friend stressed that Brooklyn’s choice of words in his public statement was intentional, adding: “Brooklyn mentioned kids, ‘future family’ and ‘future children’, in his statement – they were two very intentional clauses.”
For David and Victoria, the news is said to be devastating. Friends claim the couple adore the idea of becoming grandparents and had even wondered whether Nicola might already be expecting after Brooklyn’s statement.
The source said: “As two hugely family-oriented people, it would cut them deep not to have a role in a prospective grandchild’s life. The prospect of reading about an adopted baby on Instagram does not bear thinking about for them but sadly, it is a very real prospect.”
Brooklyn’s January statement laid bare the depth of the rift. In it, he concluded: “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
The influencer, who is now based in the US with Nicola, has also blocked his parents and siblings across social media.
The fallout intensified after Brooklyn made a series of explosive allegations, including claims that his parents behaved inappropriately at his wedding.
One accusation — that Victoria danced “inappropriately on” him during the celebrations — triggered a wave of brutal memes aimed at the former Spice Girl.
He also alleged: “My parents pressured me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”
Meanwhile, tensions appear to have spread beyond David and Victoria. Brooklyn’s siblings Romeo and Cruz have reportedly been snubbed, after he covered up tattoo tributes to both brothers.
A source said the situation is “genuinely heartbreaking”, adding: “But perhaps one of the biggest ironies is that, somehow, all protagonists have seen their own individual popularity soar.”
