Scott was sacked from the corporation last month after 27 years on the airwaves following a police investigation of "serious sexual offences" against a boy under 16 between 1997 and 2000.

However, it maintained that the company "acted decisively" upon receiving new information that the teenage boy at the centre of the investigation was under 16 in the weeks leading up to his dismissal.
