Hollywood star Patrick Muldoon, best known for his roles in Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place and the sci-fi action adventure Starship Troopers, died suddenly on Sunday, April 19, at the age of 57, following a heart attack. He had begun his career while still at school in a two-episode arc on the popular sitcom Who’s the Boss? Shortly after graduating in 1991, he landed a recurring role on the teen comedy-drama Saved by the Bell.
From there, his career went from strength to strength as just a year later, he originated the role of Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, appearing from 1992 until 1995, later returning to the show from 2011 to 2012. He also landed a memorable recurring role on the glitzy soap Melrose Place as the villainous Richard Hart in a three-season arc from seasons three to five, and starred in a slew of TV movies in the late 1990s and 2000s.
He found big screen fame playin Zander Barcalow in the beloved cult 1997 film Starship Troopers. His latest movie, crime thriller Dirty Hands, is set to be released later this year.
Alongside his acting work Patrick was also a producer and lent his talents to a multitude of films including The Tribes of Palos Verdes, Arkansas, Marlowe, The Card Counter, The Dreadful, Riff Raff.
Most recently he had been working on Kockroach, starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton and Zazie Beetz, which is currently filming.
He balanced this work with his music. the star was the lead singer for the band The Sleeping Mass.
