Outlander season eight has just two episodes remaining before the long-running drama series draws to a close, reports the Daily Record.
The final run has proved divisive amongst fans, who have been left outraged by the Faith Fraser storyline and a recent shocking death.
Nevertheless, dedicated Outlander viewers are still holding on until the bitter end - though there is some disappointing news to contend with.
Outlander is set to take a brief break, with fans facing a fortnight of the dreaded Droughtlander.
Season eight, episode nine marks the penultimate instalment of the show and is titled Pharos.
The episode is scheduled to air in the UK on Saturday, May 9 on MGM+ via Prime Video.
Outlander's series finale, titled And the World Was All Around Us, will hit screens on Saturday, May 16.
Starz recently released a teaser trailer for the penultimate episode, which depicts Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) bracing himself to meet his fate at Kings Mountain, where a crucial battle in the American Revolutionary War unfolds and he is rumoured to perish.
The preview opens with Claire Fraser (Caitríona Balfe) peering through a spyglass as she narrates in voiceover: "What history had written about Jamie's fate haunted me. I found myself searching for any crack through which hope might seep."
The trailer then cuts to Brianna MacKenzie (Sophie Skelton) addressing her father: "You're not coming back, are you?" But Jamie moves to calm her fears: "You need no longer fear."
Despite her desperate appeals for him to stand down, Jamie insists he has no choice but to fight.
The teaser then shifts to a thrilling montage as all parties gear up for combat, with Jamie shown stealthily ambushing a man after emerging from the water.
"The only way to truly protect you is to fight," Jamie declares as he launches his attack.
The stakes are raised further as a message flashes on screen: "Only one episode left before the epic series finale.
"You can't win a war that's already been lost," Claire cautions Jamie as men arrive at Fraser's Ridge to call him to battle.
