A TV star has sadly died after a tense standoff with police in Boulder, Colorado. Ancient Aliens star David Wilcock appeared in 80 episodes of the paranormal show on The History Channel, along with appearing on shows like Cosmic Disclosure, Ancient Civilisations and The Truth Behind, but has now sadly died at the age of 53.
He had reportedly been experiencing a mental health episode when the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call on Monday, April 20, close to the Colorado town of Nederland. Cops arrived on the scene around 11am and found David outside, holding a weapon – which he used on himself after a standoff with deputies.
During the 911 call, David spoke about “health issues and financial concerns” before telling the dispatcher: “I’m sorry to put you through this,” before he disconnected the call.
A statement from the sheriff’s office said: “Deputies searched the residence and surrounding property and did not locate any other individuals. There is no known threat to the public.
“Detectives with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded and are conducting a joint investigation with the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Coroner’s Office.”
The coroner’s office has since identified the male as David Wilcock. His family confirmed David “took his own life […] after a long struggle with depression and overwhelming financial debt.”
Days before his death, David had told fans: “I am not yet sure if I am doing a show tomorrow. I’ve had some very intense stuff going on this weekend. Either way, I want you all to know how much I love and appreciate you.
“Always remember that the Creator is within — and we live in a loving universe. I am very grateful to you for all of your love, care and support.”
Tributes have since flooded in for the star, with one Reddit user writing: “Rest in peace, be kind to one another, mental health is so important.”
Another echoed: “He always seemed like a nice guy. Him apologising to the dispatcher and saying ‘sorry to put you through this’ was particularly sad. RIP.”
