Dan Walker is perhaps best known for his previous role as presenter for BBC Breakfast, a position he held for six years between 2016 and 2022. Now as the face of Channel 5 News, he enjoyed a brief stint on Strictly Come Dancing and also fronted BBC's Football Focus for 12 year. The broadcaster has also covered five Olympic Games, five World Cups and the NFL for two seasons. His résumé doesn't end there, as listeners can also find him on Classic FM or fronting his Channel 5 lifestyle programme titled Yorkshire Great and Small, with fellow TV star Helen Skelton.
When Dan is not hiking the North York Moors or trekking down in the Dales, the broadcaster can be found enjoying some downtime at home in Sheffield with his wife, Sarah, and their three children, Susanna, 18, Jessica, 16, and Joe, 13.
While his family prefer to remain out of the spotlight, Express.co.uk takes an inside look into the pretty suburb Dan calls home.
Dan and his wife Sarah met in 1999 while they were both studying at the University of Sheffield. The couple decided to set up their family home in South Yorkshire but it was purely based on sentimental reasons.
"My wife Sarah and I moved to Sheffield last year because it's played a big part in our lives. We both studied here, and it's where I began broadcasting," he told the MailOnline in 2018.
Dan recently dished on his love for the area, where he loves to walk in the Peak District and sip a coffee in his own café.
"Without sounding too weird - I like the smell of Sheffield," he told Yorkshire Life. "Yorkshire air is just different to anywhere else."
Dan and Sarah recently bought into an independent coffee shop in the Fulwood area. They are now part owners of Brook Coffee Rooms which is frequented by locals.
Speaking about his venture, he remarked, "It has been really lovely. It is doing well and I just see myself as a glorified cake tester."
When he is not in the cafe, Dan enjoys long walks at his local park which he frequents with his beloved family dog, Winnie.
He told the aforementioned publication: "I absolutely love Endcliffe Park and it is a great space to have on the doorstep. There are always different places to find. As well as the main body of the park around the cafe, there are so many little paths to discover and wander along."
Other places locals can enjoy in the area include an Indian restautant called Prithiraj on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield. The dad-of-three revealed the local eatery even has a Strictly inspired curry on the menu - the Dan and Nadiya Glitter Balti.
The Channel 5 News presenter is also a fan of a restaurant called Uncle Sam's Diner, where he shared that celebrating his wife's birthday tradition involves enjoying a burger there every year.
