The Voice star Dylan Carter has sadly died aged just 24 in a horror car crash. The country singer, who hailed from South Carolina, rose to fame on series 24 of the reality show in 2023. Now he has sadly been involved in an incident in Colleton County, South Carolina, with his death announced by the nonprofit he founded to help women with cancer, The Local Voice.

The nonprofit announced on social media: "With heavy hearts we share the passing of Dylan Carter, co-founder of The Local Voice, talented musician, and someone who meant so much to our community. Dylan was the heart of what we do. He believed every voice matters and lived that every day. Through his music, his kindness, and his smile, he brought people together and made everyone feel seen.”

The statement continued: "We are heartbroken, but find comfort knowing he is in heaven with his mother.

"We are so grateful for Dylan, for the love he gave this community, and for the impact he leaves behind. We will carry his light forward and continue this mission in his honour."

Dylan sadly lost his mother in October 2022, and dedicated his stint on The Voice to her memory, breaking down in tears as he sang Whitney Houston’s I Look To You – a song she had requested he sing at her funeral.

He said on the show when the judges turned around for him: “When I saw y’all turn around, I saw my mom. This was the best second chance – I just made her so proud.”

Dylan said on what would have been his mum’s 50th birthday: “What comes to mind when y’all think of my mom? I picture her smile, hear her laugh, and see her standing at a microphone singing a Whitney Houston song at the top of her lungs.

“I can only hope to leave an impression on people like my mom did!!”
