Fox News addressed reports of growing concern for the future of the UK under the premiership of Sir Keir Starmer. King Charles's visit came at a fraught time in US-British relations, with the White House and Downing Street at odds over the war in Iran, straining a relationship both governments insist remains unshakeable as the news programme issued a breaking news announcement.

Host Sean Hannity was joined by Piers Morgan on Fox News, who applauded Charles's visit to the US alongside Donald Trump, a move that was a huge blow to the prime minister. Addressing the ongoing conflict in Iran, Piers, 61, said it was "unconscionable" that Starmer didn't allow the US to use UK bases.

He commented, “What he should absolutely have done—and where I have no sympathy whatsoever for the pushback he then got from President Trump—was this: when the United States, our most powerful, longest, and greatest ally, asks simply to use our bases to launch aircraft, the correct response from the United Kingdom should have been immediate: yes.”

That doesn’t mean we are actively engaging in the war if there are concerns about that. But the least you do as an ally is allow your bases to be used if that is the request from the United States. And I think it was unconscionable that our Prime Minister, when Donald Trump asked for that, said no.”

Piers reposted the news alert on his X account where he then dropped a five-word bombshell, saying the King is doing a, "brilliant job repairing the damage" of our prime minister.

It comes after a social media user tweeted: "Now you understand why the King had to be the one charming Trump back to the table this week..."

In view of his 8.8 million followers, Piers wrote: "Yes, and King Charles is doing a brilliant job repairing the damage."

The reviews following the King's appearances at the White House, in Congress and in New York were warm across the political divide.

A commentator in the conservative Washington Examiner wrote that the UK needed more than conventional diplomacy - and that King Charles delivered.

"His Majesty's Government under scandal-plagued Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer needed the monarchy to do what only the king could do," the editorial said.

The King's comments in Congress and at the White House's lavish banquet on Tuesday were widely praised where he mixed humour with history while calling for unity.

In an earlier post Piers also praised the King saying he gave the "best speech of his life".

He penned: "Brilliant, bold and challenging address by King Charles to the U.S. Congress which was (very unusually!) united in regular standing ovations. The best speech of his life, right when his country needed him to step up and repair the Special Relationship. Bravo, Your Majesty!"
