Drivers on the M1 are facing rush hour traffic chaos following a serious multi-vehicle crash. Lanes 3 and 4 have been closed on the M1 northbound between junction 15 Collingtree and junction 15A Rothersthorpe.
Motorists have been warned they face delays of more than an hour and up to 6 miles of traffic on approach. Motorway camera pictures show traffic at a complete standstill, with vehicles bumper-to-bumper. National Highways East Midlands wrote on X: "Lanes 3 and 4 (of 4) remain closed on the #M1 north in #Northamptonshire between J15 #Collingtree and J15A #Rothersthorpe. This is following a multi-vehicle collision. Recovery is now en-route for the vehicles involved. Delays of up to 65 minutes, with 6 miles of congestion."
