Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a "serious collision" on the M5 in Gloucestershire. The northbound section of the motorway between junction 11 (Cheltenham) and junction 9 (Tewkesbury) has been closed.
All emergency services have rushed to the incident, with National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management. Drivers have been warned to expect delays to their journeys, with three miles of congestion on approach. Motorway camera footage shows vehicles at a complete standstill. National Highways wrote: "The M5 in Gloucestershire is closed northbound between J11 (Cheltenham) and J9 (Tewkesbury) due to a serious collision. All emergency services are currently responding to the incident. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management." It also wrote on X: "Approx. 3 miles of congestion on approach. We'll post as soon as new info becomes available."
