Israel has warned it is ready to strike a series of targets within Iran as reports suggest US President Donald Trump could launch a new wave of attacks on Tehran. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir says the military has a "series of targets" ready to strike in Iran, should the war resume.

IThe chief of staff added: "Cooperation with the United States military and coordination continue at all times, and we are monitoring the situation," he says during a visit to southern Lebanon, according to remarks published by the IDF.

"In Iran, we have a further series of targets ready for attack. We are on high alert to return to an intense and broad campaign that will allow us to deepen our achievements and further weaken the Iranian regime."

He also tells troops stationed in the Khiam area that "all IDF capabilities are at your disposal, you have no limitation in the use of force for this purpose."

Zamir says that since the start of the Iran war, over 2,000 Hezbollah operatives have been killed in Lebanon.

"We will seize every opportunity to deepen the blow to Hezbollah and its continued weakening," he adds.

Taking to his social media platfrom Truth Social the president said that if Iran "agrees to give what has been agreed to", which he describes as "a big assumption", then Operation Epic Fury will be at an end.

His full post read: "Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is, perhaps, a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end, and the highly effective Blockade will allow the Hormuz Strait to be OPEN TO ALL, including Iran.

Last night Trump announced he is pausing 'Project Freedom' after just two days for a "short period of time to see whether or not the Agreement can be finalized and signed".

The project would have involved the US military "guiding" commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian state media ridiculed the move, calling it a “retreat” following what it described as Mr Trump’s repeated failures to deploy US naval power to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
