ITV legend Jack Shepherd left an incredible amount behind in his will, and it all went to one person. The Wycliffe star died in November 2025 at the age of 85, after a short illness. His agents confirmed he passed away “peacefully in hospital”, surrounded by his wife and family. And it was to his second wife, Ann, that Jack left his entire fortune.

He had £977,511 in his estate at the end of his life – almost £1million that was left entirely to the woman he married in 1975. The Charles Wycliffe star did not specifically name any of his five children – Jan, Jake, Victoria, Catherine and Ben – in the will.

The Charles Wycliffe star welcomed two children with his first wife Judith Harland, to whom he was married from 1965 until 1971. He went on to welcome three further kids with second wife Ann, and was also survived by four grandchildren.

Confirming his death last year, agents from Markham, Froggatt & Irwin said: "It is with great sadness we can confirm that the celebrated actor Jack Shepherd passed away yesterday at the age of 85.

“He died peacefully in hospital after a short illness. His wife and family were with him.

“Markham, Froggatt & Irwin are very proud and honoured to have been part of Jack's illustrious career. His passing is a sad loss to us all. Jack is survived by his wife Ann Scott and children Jan, Jake, Victoria, Catherine and Ben."

Jack had been an actor since he was a young man, appearing in various high-profile theatre productions – including at Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre.

He also starred in everything from Bill Brand to The Golden Compass.
