Fans of crime drama should turn their attention to one gripping detective series currently available to stream on Netflix.
The Sinner boasts an impressive 92 per cent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has garnered considerable acclaim from audiences on IMDb.
One viewer awarded the show a 10/10 star rating on IMDb, describing it as "criminally underrated".
They went on to state: "This is become one of my all-time favorite anthologies and streaming series ever and I rank it right up there with the likes of Breaking Bad The Sopranos everything else although it's impossible to compare any of these truly because they're so distinct and that also describes the sinner."

A second highly-rated review was entitled: "One of Best Series Out There."
The reviewer continued: "This series has great acting, intense detailed storyline, great scenery and superb directing. It pulls you in from the start. The series has a human side to it but is complex. I recommend this to everyone."
A third praised the programme as "stunning" in their top-rated review, explaining: "Just when you think you know where this anthology season is headed, the writers take you down another brilliant rabbit hole."
A fourth viewer labelled the show "outstanding", adding: "This show had me on the edge of my seat the whole season from start to finish!"

The Sinner first aired in 2017, with the opening series adapted from Petra Hammesfahr's 1999 novel of the same name. The programme followed Bill Pullman's tormented police detective Harry Ambrose as he investigated crimes perpetrated by improbable culprits while attempting to unravel the why behind the whodunit.
The first season saw Ambrose endeavouring to comprehend why a woman inexplicably stabbed a man to death, and featured Jessica Biel, who earned an Emmy nomination for her portrayal.
The programme took viewers on quite the journey with numerous twists and turns.
Meanwhile, the second instalment saw Ambrose grappling with a perplexing murder involving a 13 year old who admitted to killing his parents.
The Sinner ran for four seasons and concluded in 2021, with the cast rotating each time apart from Pullman.
The first season garnered a raft of nominations, including Golden Globes, Emmys and Saturn Awards.
