Anna Nicole Smith died in 2007, aged 39, of "combined drug intoxication" with the sleeping medication chloral hydrate as the "major component".

According to autopsy findings released in March 2007, Anna Nicole Smith suffered from a perforated abscess on her left buttock, which played a contributing role in her death.

The abscess reportedly resulted from frequent, self-administered or friend-administered injections of "longevity drugs" - a mixture of vitamin B-12, human growth hormone, and other medications which was injected directly into her buttocks.
