Sunhill Transport Limited, headquartered in Deeside, has lodged a notice of intention to appoint an administrator. The firm was established in 1972 and has stayed within the same family for three generations.

Sunhill Transport runs approximately 30 vehicles and employs numerous long-serving personnel. It is understood to have built a solid reputation within the sector, according to North Wales Live.

The announcement sparked responses on social media, with one individual saying their partner had been made redundant after nearly 30 years with the firm. Another commented: "Very sad news, well-run family company. It's not getting any easier."

Loris Y Gogs/Trucks Around North Wales posted on social media enquiring whether other firms had vacancies for affected drivers or office personnel, prompting one individual to note that it was "good to see" businesses in the region "offering support and jobs to drivers and families".

"Hope everyone gets sorted," they added.

It follows after Martyn Barratt Transport Limited, a Nottingham-based haulage company, entered administration in April, according to the London Gazette. The business appointed administrators on April 13, with the decision made public on April 21.

The firm stated it possessed over 25 years of expertise in warehousing and distribution services. It ran a fleet of more than 60 vehicles equipped with modern technology, spanning from compact 3.5-tonne sprinter vans to 7.5-tonne vans fitted with tail lifts for deliveries.
