Good Morning Britain commentator Nardiner Kaur was slammed on social media after defending Chancellor Rachel Reeves following the politician's bombshell appearance on Channel 4 News. During the interview, Ms Reeves was asked about a heckler who repeatedly shouted at her while she was answering media questions at a petrol station in Leeds. As the man drove away in a truck with two St George’s flags on the roof, still shouting, the Chancellor responded, saying: "I love our country," adding that his lack of manners was "not very British".

Narinder shared a clip of Ms Reeves speaking to Channel 4, saying: "The idea that somehow you're a patriot because you've got a flag in your van, but then you scream and shout at people on the street. That doesn't make you a patriot." When questioned if she was "surprised" that Reform UK's Nigel Farage "praised him and offered him a beer," the MP responded: "I was brought up by my mum and dad to always treat people with courtesy and respect, even if I disagree with their opinion."

The politician added: "I don't like it when people get aggressive and start shouting. I don't think it's the way to conduct public debate, and in fact, I think that our politics would be a lot better if people had civil debates rather than resorting to shouting.

"The idea that somehow you're a patriot just because you've got a flag in your van, but then you scream and shout at people, doesn't make you a patriot. What makes you a patriot is loving this country and treating other people in our country with respect."

Narinder echoed this sentiment in her caption as she supported the Chancellor and wrote: "Rachel Reeves coming in strong and direct. She's right- a flag in your van and aggressively shouting at women is the OPPOSITE of patriot."

However, many weren't impressed with the commentator's stance, as one disagreed: "She got shouted at because she and the government are bl**** useless. She epitomises the word incompetent."

A second claimed: "You scream at people all the time, Narinder, so you have no right to claim the moral high ground."

"I watched the video, and I didn't see any abuse. Just frustrated criticism with the way the Labour government is acting and governing this country. You'd think they'd listen rather than playing the victim card constantly," said another.

As one X/Twitter user chimed: "They failed to listen after the vote, they failed to listen after the march, and they’re still failing to listen now. And you think some man shouting is an issue? That’s tame compared to how so many people feel."

A fifth complained: "Reeves is damaging businesses, that's why people are so angry, which by the way is nationwide, not something you would understand."
