Vernon Kay made a striking appearance as he joined supporters at Wembley Stadium today. The Radio 2 presenter, 52, who revealed earlier this month that he and his wife of 22 years, Tess Daly, 57, were going their separate ways, is in London to cheer on his beloved Bolton Wanderers. The club is bidding for a prized place in the Championship as they face Stockport County in the League One play-off final.

Speaking about what the match means to him and his family, who are all staunch Bolton Wanderers supporters, Vernon cut a dapper figure in a brown shirt and cream slacks - notably still wearing his wedding ring - as fans continue to reel from the news that he and Tess had parted ways.

Telling Sky Sports that the whole of Bolton had been lifted by the prospect of reaching the lucrative Championship, he said: "For fans to remain and be faithful to Bolton Wanderers is really special. The football club drives the town. If the football club does well, Bolton is literally lit up."

Responding to the interview posted on X, one supporter wrote: "Vernon Kay gets it. Sticking with Bolton Wanderers - through bad years, lower leagues, and doubt - isn't blind faith. It's a community. Today's final against Stockport means everything to that town."

Despite sending the celebrity world into a spin when they announced their separation, Tess and Vernon's split has been dubbed "showbiz's friendliest divorce" as the pair reportedly begin negotiations to divide their £6 million fortune.

The duo, who celebrated with friends just last weekend, announced their separation earlier this month. After more than 20 years of marriage, they released a joint statement confirming they had "amicably" chosen to divorce.

The BBC stars, who share two daughters, said: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably."

"This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.

"There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together. We will not be making any further public comments. Tess and Vernon."
