
A man has tragically died with two others taken to hospital following a crash in Birmingham. West Midlands Police were called to Chester Road, near Chester Road Train Station in Erdington, at around 9.20pm on Sunday (May 24) following reports of a collision.
It is believed a grey Kia Sportage had collided with a wall and another car - a Honda Jazz. The 33-year-old driver of the Kia was tragically confirmed dead at the scene. The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A man in his 30s, wo was a passenger in the Kia, was taken to hospital as a precaution, while the driver of the Honda, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Flowers were left at the scene on Monday morning.
The road was closed overnight following the crash and has since reopened.
West Midlands Police are continuing to carry out a number of enquiries as they work to understand the circumstances around what happened.
The force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is appealing for anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage from around the area to contact them, as well as from anyone who saw the crash.
