
A woman was reportedly sexually assaulted in broad daylight near a canal, with police launching an urgent appeal for anyone who can help with their investigations to come forward. West Midlands Police confirmed the incident happened near Fox's Lane in Wolverhampton at around 3.15pm on Sunday.
The Birmingham Main Line Canal has subsequently been cordoned off between locks 11 and 12 as officers investigate the incident. Images from the scene captured police tape across the area, with an officer standing by.
The force has now issued a plea for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as its investigation continues.
A police spokesperson told BlackCountryLive: "We are investigating after a woman reported being sexually assaulted near Foxs Lane, Wolverhampton, at around 3.15pm yesterday (Sunday).
"Officers are carrying out enquiries including forensic examinations.
