A royal expert has revealed Catherine, the Princess of Wales' crucial skill. The future Queen has established herself, alongside her husband, as a firm favourite with the public. The pair continue to be the most popular living members of the Royal Family - polling 76% and 75% respectively, according to YouGov. Only the late Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana rank more highly in the leaderboard. Now, Catherine Mayer, author of Divide and Rule, has written about what Kate has done well since being in the limelight.
She wrote: "What Kate cannot do – and will never again be able to do – is go about her days anonymously. The harder her late mother-in law Diana kicked against the restraints of royal culture, the greater the interest in her, and the more limited the protections she enjoyed. Kate’s best and only defence – and an uncommon skill, at which she has excelled – is to hide in plain sight."
The author added that Kate is one of the most photographed and talked-about women in the world, but the public doesn't know much about her.
"Her media management looks majestic given the headwinds she has faced down since ‘Hurricane Meghan’ blew in," Mayer added in a piece for the Daily Mail.
"Both women swiftly found themselves defined against each other, polarised and polarising, with Kate accused of racism by Meghan’s fans. But who knows where Kate might stand in public affection had there been no such squalls?"
Her latest public appearance was earlier today, at Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling.
William was snapped driving the couple to the church, before helping his wife from the car.
The princess opted for a sophisticated buttercream ensemble that perfectly balanced timeless elegance with modern refinement.
The soft neutral shade felt particularly fitting, offering a subtle alternative to the brighter hues worn by some of the day’s other guests.
The dress featured a beautifully textured bouclé-style fabric, giving the look depth and structure while maintaining its feminine appeal.
