
A 19-year-old woman has died after gunshots were heard at a house in north London, police said. Detectives at the Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a young woman at an address in Finchley.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service called police to reports of gunshots at a house in Dale Grove, N12, in the early hours of Monday, June 8 - at approximately 12.15am. Despite the best efforts of first responders, the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, the Met said.
No arrests have yet been made, the force added. Detectives are working at pace to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with the young woman’s family at this incredibly difficult time as they begin to come to terms with their loss.
“We understand the concern this incident will cause within the community. While our enquiries are ongoing, residents can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days, and I encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers.
“If you have any information that could assist our investigation – including any doorbell or dashcam footage from around midnight in or near to Dale Grove – please contact police via 101, quoting reference 34/8JUN.

A formal identification and post-mortem examination will take place in due course, the force added.
