The M6 is facing long traffic delays near Lancaster after a lorry crash earlier today. The southbound side of the road is closed and is expected to remain shut for hours.

AA Traffic news reports 'severe delays' of nearly 70 minutes in the area. Both carriageways were closed by police at around 11.30am, however the northbound has since reopened.

The National Highways says "specialist recovery will be required to clear the scene".
