Original Blues was established in 1985, delivering "unrivalled" cotton knitwear for more than four decades.

The brand has now ceased trading. According to The Gazette, Neum Insolvency Ltd have been appointed as liquidators.

Its online shop has already been taken offline and is now password protected.

The clothing brand manufactured products from 100 per cent cotton using Indigo dye, with every item being produced in England.

"Every piece in our Original Blues collection has been conceived and created by our own in-house design team whose inspiration is drawn from the natural world, in particular nautical and marine themes," the Original Blues website previously stated.

"So we can offer you an unrivalled range of unique, top quality knitwear incorporating a host of innovative and imaginative designs, textures and patterns."

The closure follows a string of other clothing retailers in the UK that have gone under.

High street retailer Quiz entered administration on February 5 for the second time in under a year, with all branches closing their doors.
