Detective thriller Colors of Evil: Black is making waves on Netflix since landing on the streaming platform. Colors of Evil: Black is the second instalment in Polish author Małgorzata Oliwia Sobczak's bestselling novel trilogy. The series follows prosecutor Leopold Bilski (played by Jakub Gierszał) as he probes a string of deeply unsettling murders.

Colours of Evil: Black sees Bilski relocated to the apparently peaceful Polish town of Kashubia, however, all is far from tranquil. When a young boy, Piotrus Sarman, vanishes from the town, Bilski must work against the clock to track down the child. While searching for Piotrus, the body of another boy, Adam Ponznanski, is uncovered, raising yet more troubling questions. Bilski soon finds long-buried secrets amongst the local community beginning to surface. Here's everything you need to know about the Colors of Evil: Black killer and how the story wrapped up, reports the Mirror.

The simple answer is that there was no killer in Colors of Evil: Black.

The film began with the harrowing death of Adam Ponznanski, who was seen climbing into a car with an unidentified figure before later being decapitated in the woods.

It subsequently came to light that Adam was being transported somewhere when he panicked and flung open the car door to escape, which proved fatal.

Therefore, Adam's death was entirely accidental rather than a murder. This means there was no killer in Colors of Evil: Black.

The harrowing scenes depicting the decapitation revealed the disposal of Adam's body rather than the actual murder itself.

While the identity of Adam's travelling companion at the time of his death remains unknown, it was Nicki who was charged with disposing of the remains.

Nicki severed the child's head, placed it between the legs, and buried the body to make the death appear as a ritualistic killing.

The manner in which the body was buried drew parallels with a local vampire legend surrounding the Łopi. According to ancient custom, children born still within their amniotic sac were believed to be cursed.

To dispel any malevolent presence, the sac had to be removed through a ritual and fed to the child. Failing this, the child would need to be killed and beheaded to prevent them from becoming a vampire.

Viewers discovered that Nicki was the illegitimate son of prolific child sex offender Chojnacki Sr. , born as a result of his abuse of a 14 year old victim.

The late meat magnate had been abusing numerous children from the church choir, with his crimes concealed by locals who gradually uncovered the truth.

Nicki's deeply troubled upbringing had left him mentally unstable, which ultimately drove him to abduct Piotrus.

At the very beginning of the film, it was also disclosed that Piotrus had been born still inside his amniotic sac — a detail Nicki had overheard in the restaurant when he smashed a plate, and his motivation for the kidnapping.

Fortunately, Piotrus was rescued in time and the town's generational trauma and subsequent cover-up were finally brought to light.
