Turkish actress Ece Irtem, who is best known for playing Isil in One Love, has died aged 35 of a heart attack. The star was reportedly found unresponsive at her home this morning, a day after her birthday, with her cause of death reported as a heart attack.

Tributes have been flooding in following the heartbreaking news, with one person writing on X: "Rest in peace Ece Irtem. Ece was our amazing Gizem in Bay Yanlis. She had her 35th birthday yesterday and died of a sudden heart attack at her mother’s home yesterday according to Turkish press."

Another said: "Oh my Go, this is serious, I can't believe this. May God receive her with open arms. My condolences to the family and friends."

A third wrote: "Life hangs by a silken thread. A tiny clot decides it all. That's how frail humanity is."

The actress's lawyer said in a statement: "My client Ece İrtem passed away today around 12:00. The incident occurred at her own home while she was with her mother.

"Based on initial findings, we believe she passed away due to a heart attack. The investigation is ongoing. The definitive result will be clarified with the autopsy report. Additional information will be provided to the public once the autopsy report is released."

The popular star studied acting at the Sadri Alisik Cultural Centre from 2014 to 2015. She graduated from Yasar University’s Opera and Vocal Performance department in 2014.
