Zoe Ball has addressed speculation about whether she intends to undergo a face lift after receiving an influx of messages from worried fans. Last month, the presenter joked that she had contemplated having the procedure done, should she become the new host of Strictly Come Dancing.

Subsequently, it was revealed that she was unsuccessful in obtaining the role. Instead, Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe will assume the positions previously occupied by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, following their exit last year.

Speaking on a recent episode of her Dig It podcast with Jo Whiley, the 55-year-old confirmed that she has dismissed the idea of having a face lift, though she has lately made another alteration to her appearance.

Discussing Invisalign, a treatment that progressively straightens teeth using a sequence of transparent, detachable aligners, Zoe disclosed she had recently begun wearing them on her lower teeth.

"I've just had mine fitted," she told her co-star. "Do you remember I said, 'No face lift', which was a joke by the way because loads of people keep getting in touch saying, 'Don't have a face lift'."

"I'm like, 'It was actually a joke, I'm not going to get a face lift'. She joked of the procedure: "They take your ears off, that's what they do! I don't want them to take my ears off and yank it up," before teasing: "Although, never say never."

Revealing how she was managing with the aligners thus far, she added: "But I am straightening my teeth, I have Invisalign on the bottom.

"It's alright actually, I haven't lost it [the retainer] so far, I haven't left it [anywhere]. It's tricky to get on and off at the beginning, they're quite rigid but I've got used to it," before adding: "I'm definitely eating and drinking less because you just can't be doing with the taking it out and brushing your teeth and brushing it and putting it back in.

"It's just the bottom ones at the moment and it doesn't affect my speech too badly."

Zoe had previously confessed she experienced "seven stages of grief and rejection" upon discovering she had not been selected as one of the new Strictly Come Dancing presenters.

Regarded as a leading contender for the position, the BBC Radio 2 presenter enjoyed substantial backing from supporters, primarily owing to her history with the programme and broadcasting expertise.

She made her debut on Strictly as a competitor alongside Ian Waite in 2005 before subsequently hosting Strictly: It Takes Two for ten years.

Upon learning who had landed the role, prior to the BBC's official announcement, Zoe offered reassurance to supporters that the show was "in safe hands" with its new "fabulous" hosts.

The BBC has already started revealing the celebrities scheduled to participate in this year's series. Those confirmed thus far include EastEnders actress Lacey Turner, Love Island champion Dani Dyer and vocalist Delta Goodrem.
