Prince Harry is setting a "trap" for King Charles by bringing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK along with Meghan Markle, reports claim. Speculation continues to mount that King Charles could be reunited with the prince and princess after Harry and Meghan were offered royal accommodation for their upcoming UK visit.
But a source told the Mail that the Sussexes have an ulterior motive.
They told the publication: "I don’t think this will be a reunion. It’s more of a trap. It’s a challenge. They are saying: 'Try and ignore us when we are here with the kids'. If they don’t meet up [with Harry and Meghan], then they can say: 'We came to you and we were ignored'."
The same source claimed Harry and Meghan are bringing their children along to force the Palace's hand, "so they have to give him security or else they are endangering the children".
They added: "This is a huge new low as a tactic – and it is going to backfire."
Harry has faced a protracted legal battle with the Home Office over the security arrangements for him and his family when in the UK after his level of protection changed when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020.
Security concerns for his family have been cited by the Duke as a reason he could not bring them to the UK, but it appears his concerns have been allayed. But sources have stressed all matters of security are issues for the Home Office to decide and the King does not play a role in the process and has not made any private undertakings.
