Harry Redknapp has shared an update on a health diagnosis that recently caught him off guard. When I'm a Celebrity... South Africa 2026 aired earlier this year, the 79-year-old revealed he had been diagnosed with hearing loss and has since begun wearing hearing aids.

While Harry was oblivious to any issue, his long-standing wife Sandra noticed he was struggling to hear certain things and urged him to have his hearing checked.

Speaking exclusively to us at Shoreditch's Ruffians Barber Shop for World Cuts, a football-inspired activation from Viagogo and Ruffian, he admitted he frequently forgets to wear his hearing aids, though maintained that everything was fine.

"I've come out to go into London and I've left my hearing aids at home," he revealed during our conversation.

"Yeah, I haven't had them in lately, it's so stupid ain't it. I had them on charge and came out without them!," he laughed.

"I'm okay without them, yeah, I can survive, I'm not too bad."

Reflecting on how the diagnosis took him by surprise, he added: "I didn't even think I had a problem until I went for a hearing test and then they said, 'Oh you're way down', so that's why I got them really."

The former West Ham United manager has previously described his hearing difficulties as "dangerous", referencing incidents such as accidentally leaving his indicators on while driving.

Appearing alongside his wife Sandra on This Morning earlier this year, he confessed: "It could've caused accidents."

His wife added: "He used to say I was whispering when I wasn't whispering. Then, if we went out for dinner and there was a group of people, I could sense that he wasn't hearing the conversation or joining in."

Discussing his general wellbeing, he told us: "Yeah touch wood, we're all good!".

Nearing his 80th birthday next year, the former star says he has no intention of slowing down.

"I like to keep busy, waking up to something to do everyday is good," he explained, while disclosing his diary remains as packed as ever.

Nevertheless, one thing that isn't on the agenda is another reality programme. Harry reached the final of the most recent series of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, which was won by Adam Thomas.

Commenting on the dispute between the Waterloo Road actor and his fellow campmates David Haye and Jimmy Bullard, the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! champion said it "all got blown up a bit" and indicated there was "banter" on both sides.

Discussing reality programmes more generally, he continued: "I've had enough of them now. It was good fun but no, I was asked to do Strictly years ago and I didn't want to do it really."
